Interior Ministry Lists Rift Valley Among 3 Regions Leading in Illicit Alcohol Sale

The Interior Ministry revealed that Rift Valley, Nyanza, and Western regions are the most affected by illicit alcohol sales, with 800,000, 690,000, and 600,000 liters recovered, respectively. Counties such as Kisii, Kakamega, Nakuru, and West Pokot have been identified as major centers for the production and sale of counterfeit alcoholic beverages. A total of 2.8 million liters of illicit alcohol have been seized nationwide, while sustained enforcement efforts have led to lower volumes in the Central and Coastal regions.
