Nigerian govt relocates Great Green Wall agency headquarters to Kano

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the relocation of the operational headquarters of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall from Abuja to Kano, Environment Minister Balarabe Abbas Lawal announced. The strategic move, part of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to bring the agency closer to its operational zone to better combat desertification, land degradation, and climate change in 11 northern states. The new headquarters will be located at the Afforestation Programme Coordinating Unit office in Kano. Lawal said the relocation will improve coordination, monitoring, and project implementation for the Great Green Wall Programme.
