Plateau NLC to picket Assembly over lawmakers' pension bill

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Plateau State plans to picket the State House of Assembly on July 30 over a proposed bill granting pension and retirement benefits to lawmakers. Backed by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and civil society groups, the NLC calls the bill anti-people and self-serving, especially as the state struggles with pension arrears dating back to 1986. NLC Chairman Eugene Manji urged Governor Caleb Mutfwang to intervene.
