Taraba ALGON chairman denies claims of bribery in councillor screening

Moses Maihankali, chairman of the Taraba State chapter of the Association of Local Government Areas of Nigeria (ALGON), has dismissed social media claims that councillors are demanding money from newly appointed supervisory councillors. In a statement on Tuesday, he described the allegations as false and misleading. He warned against collecting any form of payment during the screening process and stressed that the exercise must be transparent and fair. Maihankali assured that sanctions would be imposed on those found violating the rules.
