Djibouti's President Ismail Omar Guelleh claimed a landslide victory in the presidential elections, securing 97.81% of the votes. His sole opponent, Mohamed Farah Samatar, garnered only 2.19% of the votes. Voter turnout was 80.4%, with approximately 256,000 registered voters. Guelleh, who has ruled since 1999, was allowed to seek another five-year term after presidential age limits were removed last year.
