Trial of alleged coup plotters: Judge bars journalists from covering case

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja barred journalists from covering the trial of six alleged masterminds of a coup plot against President Bola Tinubu. Although the federal government was set to open its case, journalists were escorted out of the courtroom on the judge's orders. The defendants, including retired Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana and former Bayelsa State governor Timipre Sylva, face charges of treason and terrorism.
