The government of South Sudan has agreed to deploy more security forces along the main highway from Uganda to Juba to end a strike by truck drivers. A 15-point memorandum signed on May 9 recognized the importance of stability along the Juba-Nimule highway for regional trade. The agreement also includes the removal of illegal fees and unnecessary roadblocks, facilitating the movement of goods.
