Treasury Proposes Fuel Levy Cut to Save Motorists Ksh75 a Tank

The National Treasury is proposing a 50 percent reduction in the fuel levy directed to the Road Annuity Fund, potentially saving Kenyans about 80 cents for every Ksh100 spent on fuel. The amendment to the Road Maintenance Levy Fund Act reduces the levy from Ksh3 to Ksh1.50 per litre. This change could save up to Ksh80 for a 50-litre tank, also affecting matatus making daily trips.
