Healthy life expectancy gap between rich and poor has widened

A new study by the Health Foundation reveals that people in the wealthiest areas can enjoy 20 more years of good health than those in the poorest areas. Healthy life expectancy in the UK has fallen by about two years from 2012-2014 to 2022-2024. Men in the least deprived areas have a healthy life expectancy at birth of 69.2 years, while those in the most deprived areas only have 49.8 years.
