Léon XIV turns the migration question: 'What is the North doing for the South?'

During his first apostolic trip to Africa, Léon XIV addressed the migration issue by questioning what the global North is doing to help the global South. Throughout his eleven-day journey through Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea, he emphasized the dignity of migrants and condemned the reductive view of Africa as merely a reservoir of resources. The pope also discussed the economic responsibility of wealthy countries in the root causes of migration.
