Scores of former teachers in Adamawa State protested at the Government House on Thursday, demanding the payment of 29 months’ unpaid salaries. The demonstrators, numbering at least 674, were originally recruited during former governor Murtala Nyako's administration and were later disengaged by current governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. They accuse the government of ignoring court rulings that ordered the settlement of their entitlements. Spokesperson Ismail Bello stated that the teachers' patience is running out due to the government's inaction.
