The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has intensified efforts to ensure tax compliance in the Eastleigh area of Nairobi, mandating traders to start issuing electronic tax receipts (ETRs) from May 1. During a meeting with the Eastleigh Business District Association, the KRA Commissioner highlighted that the low uptake of the eTIMS system has led to non-compliance among traders. Language barriers and complex tax procedures were also identified as major challenges for the local business community.
