Akwa Ibom communities clash over Rep Etteh's second term bid

Two sociopolitical groups in Akwa Ibom State, the Esit Eket Grassroots Network (EGN) and the Eket People Union (EPU), have disagreed over the second term aspirations of Rep Okpolupm Etteh. The EPU withdrew its support on March 27, 2026, citing a breach of trust, while the EGN described this position as misleading and unrepresentative. The EGN also commended Etteh's achievements and endorsed his second term bid, along with those of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Eno.
