United Arab Emirates blocks travelers from DR Congo, Uganda and South Sudan over Ebola fears

The United Arab Emirates has suspended issuance of new visas for travelers from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan effective June 6, 2026, citing Ebola concerns. The directive, announced by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, is part of proactive national preparedness. Authorities in Abu Dhabi stated the restrictions may be extended depending on the situation.
