The U.S. military announced it has successfully enforced a naval blockade against Iran, halting maritime trade to and from the country. CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper stated that the blockade of Iranian ports has been fully implemented, bringing seaborne trade with Iran to a complete standstill in less than 36 hours. The aim of the blockade is to prevent Iran from generating income from passage fees through the Strait of Hormuz and to cut off its oil revenues.
