East African legislators propose bill against human trafficking

Members of the East African Legislative Assembly, sitting in Arusha, have considered a motion to introduce the regional Counter-Trafficking in Persons Bill. Proposed by legislator Fatuma Ndangiza, the bill aims to establish a regional legal framework for the prevention and combating of human trafficking, as well as for the protection and reintegration of victims. The motion was seconded by legislator Gai Deng and follows the Assembly's rules of procedure.
