Nigerian painter and fine art photographer Tobiloba Awogbemila presents his collection 'Rhythms of Home – Musical Collection', which draws from music and law to advocate for the preservation of African cultural heritage. Leaning on his legal background, Awogbemila creates a courtroom atmosphere in the gallery with titles like 'No Witness', and depicts Yoruba cultural objects such as the talking drum, shekere, agogo, and bata. The use of dark colors against light ones evokes solemnity and devotion, while thick layers of paint symbolize memory and communal culture. The collection also inspires ancestral presence and nocturnal devotion through a deep blue ground filled with worship objects.
