South Korea's former President Yoon Suk Yeol was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sending military drones into North Korea in October 2024, which prosecutors said was to create a pretext for his martial law declaration. Yoon, who already received a life sentence for insurrection over the martial law attempt, can appeal. He denied wrongdoing.
