Viktor Orbán was defeated in the elections by Péter Magyar, who promised a less exclusive and more peaceful Hungary. Despite efforts to encourage childbirth, the fertility rate fell to 1.31 in 2025, the same figure as in 2010. Hungarians, exhausted by constant conflicts and growing inequalities, clearly expressed their desire to no longer be 'experimented on'. Magyar celebrated his victory by promising to work for a better future.
