Pygmy hippopotamus bets on Moo Deng, its global star, to survive

Moo Deng, the pygmy hippopotamus who became a global social media star, celebrated her second birthday at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand. She enjoyed a fruit and vegetable cake, partly eaten by her mother Jona. The event drew visitors from across Asia, though fewer than last year. She rose to fame in 2024 thanks to videos by her keeper Atthapon Nundee.
