Libya approves first unified budget in 13 years after US intervention

Libya's rival eastern and western legislative bodies have signed a US-mediated agreement to unify public spending for the first time in over a decade. The central bank praised the new budget as a step towards unifying fiscal policy. Despite generating $22 billion in oil revenues last year, Libya faces a $9 billion foreign currency deficit.
