Iran war impact to hit household energy bills for the first time

Household energy prices in the UK are set to rise by 13% in July due to soaring wholesale costs from the Iran war. The new price cap, to be published by regulator Ofgem, will result in an average annual bill of £1,850, which is £209 more than currently. The government is planning to provide targeted support for the most vulnerable households before bills rise further this winter.
