Indonesia, US sign ‘major’ defence cooperation agreement

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth hailed the establishment of a major defense cooperation partnership with Indonesia, emphasizing the strength of ties between the two countries to maintain stability in the Asia Pacific region. During the signing of the agreement at the Pentagon, Hegseth noted that both nations' armed forces participate in over 170 military exercises each year. Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin expressed enthusiasm for the continued development of this defense relationship.
