Senegal: CNTS reassures on the safety of blood products after a doctor's arrest

The National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) confirmed that the safety of blood products is not compromised following the arrest of Dr. M. Guèye, suspected of willfully transmitting HIV. The CNTS stated that each blood bag undergoes rigorous testing and that no bag can be distributed without electronic validation. A national investigation is underway, which has already led to the arrest of around fifty individuals, including public figures.
