Ombudsman Seeks Prosecution of County Official Over Access to Information Dispute

The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) ordered the Tana River County Government to release information related to the Inuka Fund and referred the Acting County Secretary for possible prosecution for failing to comply with information requests and defying official summons. The complaint was filed by the Tana River Civil Society Organisations Network, which sought details on Inuka Fund disbursements for the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 financial years. The county provided only a partial response and ignored subsequent summons. The CAJ will forward the matter to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) within 30 days for possible prosecution.
