Kenyan Sabastian Sawe won the London Marathon on April 26, 2026, with a time of 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 30 seconds, becoming the first man to complete the official marathon distance in under two hours in a sanctioned competition. He broke the previous world record by 65 seconds, set by Kelvin Kiptum. Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha finished in 1:59:41, while Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo completed the podium in 2:00:28. Ethiopian Tigst Assefa also retained her women's title in 2:15:41, improving her own world record.
