A pest controller shot his wife in the head on Saturday, October 24, at a cold-storage warehouse in Bondoufle, Essonne, where the couple was using an air gun to eliminate rats. He told gendarmes he heard a noise in the dark and mistook his 54-year-old wife for a rodent. She was taken to Percy Military Hospital in Clamart, where her life remains in danger. The Évry-Courcouronnes prosecutor’s office opened an investigation for attempted spousal homicide, and the husband was taken into custody.
