On April 8, 2026, the mobile gendarmerie from Daloa dismantled two illegal gold panning sites in the village of Petit Yamoussoukro, located in the sub-prefecture of Namané. Four individuals, including one Ivorian and three Burkinabe, were arrested for their involvement in illegal operations. The operation also resulted in the seizure and destruction of several pieces of equipment, including eight crushers and eight water pumps, used for gold extraction under precarious conditions.
