Insecurity: US Assistant Secretary Garcia gives details of meetings in Nigeria over CPC designation

US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Frank Garcia met with senior Nigerian officials in Abuja regarding Nigeria's designation as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC). The meetings focused on security cooperation, protection of Christian communities, justice sector reform, and regional stability. Garcia met with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sola Enikanolaiye, Chief of Defense Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Minister of Communications Bosun Tijani, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. He pressed Nigeria to do more to protect Christians from attacks and ensure the safe return of internally displaced persons.
