Attorney General Gives Registered Societies 60-Day Deadline to File Annual Returns

The Office of the Attorney General has issued a public notice directing all registered societies in Kenya to file annual returns within 60 days or face enforcement actions, including possible deregistration. Under the Societies Act, every registered society is required to submit annual returns and other necessary documents by the end of March each financial year. A majority of these societies have yet to comply, prompting the issuance of this 60-day deadline.
