Ogun 2027: PDP Chieftain Denies Governorship Ambition

Topa Olusegun Peter, a PDP chieftain in Ogun State and the Baale of Olorunsogo, denies being a 2027 governorship aspirant and says his name was used without his consent. He alleges that local APC chairman Ramoni Adebolu and other political figures offered him a political position before newspapers identified him as a PDP aspirant. Peter says he did not buy a nomination form, sign any document, accept money, or authorise lawyer Anderson Asemota to petition the electoral commission, INEC. He urged INEC to investigate how his name was used and disregard documents submitted in his name until the matter is clarified.

He said paying ₦250 billion to each of the 36 states would total ₦9 trillion and require more than ₦33.68 trillion in dividends from a single payout. Makinde made the allegation at a 2027 budget consultation at the University of Ibadan on Friday; the Presidency accused him of making misleading statements.
