Mali: a propaganda video illustrates the strategic evolutions of JNIM

The armed group JNIM, an Al-Qaeda affiliate, released a propaganda video showing the April 25 attack on the military camp and airport of Sévaré near Mopti in central Mali. This attack was part of a series of coordinated assaults on several Malian towns by JNIM jihadists and Tuareg separatists from the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). According to analyst Bakary Sambe, director of the Timbuktu Institute, the video illustrates JNIM's ability to penetrate urban areas and strategic sites like the Sévaré airport and military camp, worrying the Malian army.
