Mali dragged before the African Court in Tanzania for deploying Russian mercenaries to kill own citizens

A case has been filed before the African Court for Human and People’s Rights in Arusha, accusing the Malian government of deploying Russian mercenaries responsible for the deaths of over 500 citizens. Initiated by three civil society organizations, the case seeks to establish Mali's responsibility for human rights violations committed on its territory. The mercenaries, known as the Wagner Group, allegedly committed atrocities in 2022 under the supervision of the Malian Armed Forces.
