Mali: Fighting Resumes in Kidal, Tension Escalates

Fighting resumed on Sunday in Kidal, northern Mali, between Tuareg rebel groups, supported by Al-Qaeda-linked jihadists, and the Malian army, aided by Russian mercenaries. The Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) claimed to have taken control of the city after violent clashes. A rebel spokesperson stated they aim to oust the remaining Russian fighters who have taken refuge in a camp.
