Mali: The Minister of Defense and His Family Assassinated

Malian Defense Minister Sadio Camara, aged 47, was assassinated along with his second wife and other family members in an attack attributed to jihadist groups and Tuareg rebels. This tragedy prompted President Assimi Goïta to declare a two-day national mourning starting April 27, 2026. Expressions of solidarity towards the Malian people are increasing both nationally and internationally.
