General Sadio Camara, Mali's Defense Minister, is reported to have been killed during coordinated attacks in Mali on April 25, 2026, according to security sources. These attacks, carried out by the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), targeted several cities, including Bamako and Kati. For the first time, these two groups have displayed their collaboration against the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa). The United States and the African Union condemned the attacks and called for calm.
