Mali: $3.5 million reward for Al-Qaeda chief in the Sahel

Mali's military leaders offered a $3.5 million reward on Thursday for information leading to the arrest or neutralization of Iyad Ag Ghaly, leader of the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (JNIM), Al-Qaeda's branch in the Sahel. Iyad Ag Ghaly, a former Malian diplomat and Tuareg rebel, is wanted by the International Criminal Court and is the most wanted man in the region. The Security Ministry announced the reward of two billion CFA francs ($3.5 million) on national television.
