Mandefu's Law Proposals: Archbishop Dodo Kamba Fears Politicization of the CENI

Archbishop Dodo Kamba, president of the Congolese Interreligious Council, expressed concerns about the law proposals by Deputy Meschak Mandefu regarding electoral system reform in the DRC. He opposes ending the exclusivity of religious confessions in the presidency of the National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI), emphasizing that the management of this institution must remain apolitical to maintain its credibility. Kamba recalls past issues when the responsibility of the CENI was handed to politicians, leading to chaos in 2011.
