For the first time, life insurance products generated more premiums for underwriters than general covers, indicating a shift in Kenya's insurance market. In 2025, life insurance premiums grew by 23.1% to Sh235.39 billion, surpassing general insurance premiums which rose by 11.4% to Sh227.17 billion.
