Morocco: the United States wants a "quick" solution for Western Sahara

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Landau reaffirmed Washington's support for Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara during a meeting in Rabat with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nacer Bourita, calling for a quick resolution to a conflict that has persisted since 1975. Landau highlighted Morocco's autonomy proposal for the region, which would grant Western Sahara autonomy in social and economic policy. The United Nations has also supported this initiative.
