May Day: Akwa Ibom NLC begs Gov Eno for ICT centre, injection of more funds into primary schools

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Akwa Ibom State Chapter appealed to Governor Umo Eno for the construction of an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) centre and increased funding for primary education. During the 2026 Workers' Day celebration, NLC Chairperson Comrade Sunny James expressed hope that this renewed request would lead to positive outcomes, enabling workers to gain computer skills. He also emphasized the need to improve pensions for retired teachers and called for the full employment of casual workers across government agencies.
