MCE, civil society leaders frown at INEC intrusion into opposition parties’ internal affairs

The Movement for Credible Elections (MCE) expressed concern over the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) involvement in the internal affairs of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), particularly the imposition of Sheu Gabam as the new chairman. Gabam, who had been suspended and expelled by the SDP's National Executive Committee, was inexplicably reinstated on the INEC portal. The MCE also noted the lack of concrete response from INEC regarding this situation, despite requests for clarification from the SDP.
