Threats against Trump: Canadian police officer Evenson Dumerlus to appear on July 30

A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer stationed in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Evenson Dumerlus, 34, is charged with making threats against U.S. President Donald Trump in a Snapchat video posted during the G7 summit in June 2025. He was removed from duty and will appear in court on July 30, 2026. The charge under Canada's Criminal Code carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment.
