Police, EFCC rescue 14 victims kidnapped along Calabar-Oron waterways

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command rescued 14 passengers kidnapped by sea pirates along the Calabar–Oron waterways. The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following sustained intelligence efforts. The rescued victims are currently receiving medical evaluation and treatment before being reunited with their families. Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, commended the professionalism of the personnel involved and promised to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.

Troops arrest 11 with explosive materials in Abuja

Troops of the Nigerian Army arrested 11 suspects in Abuja who were found with materials believed to be used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The arrest occurred in the Kuje Area Council during an operation on April 27. The suspects, consisting of 10 males and one female, claimed they were heading to mining sites around Kabbin Mangoro to collect mineral resources.
