Mexico’s Sheinbaum announces criminal charges request in US over ICE deaths

Mexico announced it will request criminal charges in US courts after more than a dozen Mexican citizens were killed by US immigration authorities or died in custody. The latest incident involved Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, shot by an ICE agent on July 7. He is the 17th Mexican national to die since President Donald Trump returned to office. President Claudia Sheinbaum urged solidarity and condemned human rights violations, while Foreign Minister Roberto Velasco had previously signaled the move.
