Military Drones: France Bets on Cheaper Models to Catch Up

In response to the rise of cheap military drones, France is accelerating its shift towards less expensive models. The Army plans to acquire at least 10,000 drones this year, while its current fleet is around 4,000 units. The startup Harmattan AI delivered 1,000 Sonora drones to the Army, becoming the first unicorn of the French Defense Industrial and Technological Base. The tactical drone program Patroller has been questioned due to its high costs.
