DHQ gives update on operations against Boko Haram, ISWAP, others

Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, provided an update on military operations conducted between June 4 and June 11, 2026. In the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai rescued 360 civilians, mostly women and children, who had been held since the March 3, 2026 attack on Ngoshe community. Two infants died during evacuation from the Mandara Mountains. A 20-year-old terrorist, Fannami Ali, surrendered, and two suspected informants were arrested.

EFCC asked to enforce interim forfeiture court order against Abuja developer

The Initiative Against Human Rights Abuse & Torture (INAHURAT) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to enforce an interim forfeiture order issued by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja against properties owned by developer Rebecca Godwin-Isaac in Guzape and Katampe districts. INAHURAT's lawyer, Maxwell Opara, stated at a press conference that despite the order, the property at Plot 4022, Guzape District, continues to be developed in violation of the law. He urged the EFCC chairman to comply with the court order to preserve the subject matter and boost the confidence of the nominal complainant, octogenarian widow Mrs. Colleen Mero Yesufu.
