In 2025, Morocco intercepted 73,640 irregular migration attempts, a 6.4% decrease from the previous year. Authorities dismantled over 300 smuggling networks, while migrant flows are redirecting towards West African coastlines and the southern Mediterranean. Strengthened cooperation between Rabat and Madrid, particularly through increased maritime surveillance, contributed to a 42.6% reduction in irregular arrivals in Spain.
