The Cameroon National Shippers Council is investigating delays in air freight at Douala and Yaoundé-Nsimalen airports, where imported cargo takes an average of eight days to clear customs. Only 27% of shipments exit within two days, with over half taking more than four days, increasing costs and causing delays for businesses. Despite issues identified in March 2025, the sector remains congested. The situation affects the transit of spare parts, medicines, industrial equipment, express parcels, and perishable goods through these two airports.
