Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata's Driver Allegedly Shot Amid Nyahururu Rally Clashes

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, the driver of Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata was shot during a Linda Mwananchi Group rally in Nyahururu. The driver, identified as Gitari, sustained a gunshot wound to the chest during a confrontation with armed civilians and later police. Governor Kang'ata alleged that his vehicle was blocked and confiscated, and his driver was injured by police.
